PULL Blends Worlds with Music for Kohler and DDB Chicago in Futuristic Toilet Ad

Robots and humans go social with each other in “Never Too Next,” a striking new: 60/:30/:15 spot for Kohler by agency DDB Chicago. The NYC music company PULL helped to tell the story with an inventive track.

An intergalactic cocktail party is the scene for “Never Too Next,” where high-functioning robots are mingling with humans. DDB Chicago looked to PULL composer Mitch Davis for music that the futuristic guests might be listening to — however, the track would have to act as a hybrid between score and source.

“What made this project interesting was that it had to move back and forth between score and environmental music,” says Davis. “For example, a partygoer is dancing and the music had to morph into something reflecting her dance moves, but still keep on working as score from there. The dance music had to come in and drop out in equally organically fashion.”

PULL’s studios are located in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood. PULL has created music and sound for elite brands including Nike, Apple, AT&T, ESPN, American Express, UPS, Mercedes, L'Oreal, Volvo, Wild Turkey, Absolut, Smirnoff, MTV, Vh1, Captain Morgan's and many more.
