McDonald’s Canada Put A Humorous McCafe Twist To 4 Classic Films for TIFF: Silence of the Lattes, Caféblanca, Bean Girls, Americano Beauty

McCafé is the official coffee sponsor of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). To build excitement and engagement among movie-lovers, launching More McCafe. More Film. – classic film parodies starring coffee beans as leading characters.

McDonald's and creative agency, Cossette, have created tongue-in-cheek parodies of memorable scenes from four classic movies using coffee beans as characters to create a clever and whimsical connection for all movie lovers with McCafé coffee.
Each movie title has a playful twist: Caféblanca (Casablanca), Bean Girls (Mean Girls), Silence of the Lattes (Silence of the Lambs), Americano Beauty (American Beauty).

Humphrey Brewgart and Ingrid Beanman star in this caffeinated classic.

These beans better watch their backs.

Lester is about to wake up from the Americano dream.

Our personal favourite, Silence of the Lattes. The terror. The insanity.

These videos will be featured on McDonald’s Canada YouTube and Facebook. They range from 30 – 70 seconds in length. Media was managed by OMD.
The campaign will launch on TIFF’s opening night, September 8, 2016 and the videos will be played for the duration of the festival, until September 18th. The McCafé sampling vehicle is also returning this year to serve up free small hot McCafé Premium Roast coffee and tea all festival long. And new this year, it will also be serving espresso-based beverages too, like lattes and cappuccinos.
