US Chamber of Commerce champions the big picture about small business this holiday shopping season

First came Black Friday and then Cyber Monday with Small Business Saturday sandwiched in between. It’s hard to not get caught up in the myopic focus of holiday shopping, but in their newest campaign, "Nothing's Bigger than Small Business" created by agency SS+K, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants us to see the bigger picture — small businesses are the main creator of jobs in the United States. 67% of jobs to be precise.

“The main goal of this campaign is to increase awareness of small business as the engine of job creation”, said Suzanne Clark, Executive Vice President, Chamber of Commerce. “We want to shine a spotlight on what small businesses do for the American economy. They’re incredible yet under appreciated.”

The Chamber of Commerce thanked current small business members, through email and social media, for contributing to the American economy and invited them to share an image of themselves in their place of business holding a sign with the number of people they employ.

“We wanted to tell the story beyond Small Business Saturday” said Mark Kaminsky, Founding Partner of SS+K. “Small businesses are so much more to their community than the goods and services they provide. They are the backbone of our economy. They provide jobs.”
