Britalia, Harvey Nichols 2016 Christmas Advert Isn't about the Holidays It's All Things Italian Instead

Harvey Nichols released it's 2016 Holiday Christmas ad this week with "Britalia" a film celebrating Italian style, beauty, food, drink, culture and lifestyle. You wont see any reindeer, baubles or snowmen this year rather a the focus instead is Italy.

The: 60 spot features a subtitled version of a scene from a Luigi Pirandello play called As You Desire Me. In it an Italian couple engage in a passionate debate. The English subtitles suggest they are cursing the store as “thieving rats” for taking their best fashion, beauty and food — such as Versace underwear, Armani lipsticks and artisan pasta — leaving them with nothing to wear or eat at Christmas.

Watch previous Christmas ads from Harvey Nichols: from 2015, Gift Face taught us how to avoid making said face and 2012's Same Little Red that started an epic cat fight at a Christmas party was actually entertaining.
