Kia’s partnership with basketball superstar and global brand ambassador Blake Griffin continues once again. This year, Blake wears a cape and introduces a sidekick, played by Jack McBrayer from the hit show 30 Rock. The dynamic duo, along with their Kia Optima, form a superhero squad known as “The Griffin Force,” and will appear in a series of eight new television commercials for Kia’s best-selling Optima midsize sedan.
In the spots, we witness their epic adventures as they stop people from committing the “crime” of purchasing a lame vehicle.
“Trailer” demonstrates how the Griffin-McBrayer superhero squad fights to save the world, one Kia Optima at a time. A second spot, “Zipline,” will begin airing in early November and continue the epic adventures as The Griffin Force saves citizens from making terrible decisions by showing them a better, smarter and more attractive way: The redesigned 2014 Optima. The campaign launches during the Kia NBA Tip-Off ’13 doubleheader on TNT with 60- and 30-second versions of “Trailer.”
In addition to a series of TV spots, the campaign will feature other integrated elements that position the Kia Optima as a smart decision and “The Griffin Force” as a superhero squad that people can rally around and become a part of.
