PES takes Stop-Motion to an Epic Scale in Latest Ad for Honda's Ridgeline

PES Films latest spot for Honda, “The Power of Ridgeline” uses a technique PES describes as long-exposure stop-motion, which combines both live action and animation. Shooting each frame over three or four seconds, gives the look of a time-lapse film but with a more considered, stylised feel.

The ad shows six Honda Ridgeline trucks hauling materials to construct what appear to be five distinct construction projects, including a playground, a garden and a motorcycle racing track. But as the camera pans out, the scenes come together to spell out "Honda" as a voiceover declares, "If you can dream it, you can do it."
